The Yellowknife International Film Festival (YKIFF) is a celebration of excellence in cinema from Northern, Canadian, Pan-Arctic and Indigenous filmmakers. It is also a platform for all levels of industry professionals to converge, share insights, and foster collaboration.
Through our various programming efforts, we strive to champion the traditionally underrepresented voices in the filmmaking community by ensuring that we reach a gender parity, and that Indigenous, BIPOC, Queer, and Filmmakers with disabilities are represented. WAMP recognizes the significance of inclusivity and strives to create an inviting environment for all individuals from all walks of life to participate in the arts.
Our carefully curated programming represents a wide range of voices, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds. By showcasing films, workshops, and discussions that reflect the rich tapestry of our community, we aim to amplify underrepresented voices and foster a greater sense of belonging. Through our initiatives, we have observed tangible impacts, including increased representation, expanded perspectives, and enhanced community engagement.
