WAMP’s Annual 48 Hour Music Video Competition

WAMP is once again hosting the 48hr Music Video Competition! We are seeking filmmakers and musicians to apply for this exciting contest being held August 4-6, 2023. Filmmakers and musicians will be paired together randomly to create a music video in just 48 hours.
All competing musicians and filmmakers are asked to be available on September 23, 2023 for the 48hur Music Video Screening + Judging happening at Northern Arts and Cultural Centre. Musicians are invited to play a live set, and to accompany the music video that is completed for this contest. Performance fees will be paid to all musicians, and screening fees will be paid to all filmmakers. Out of town performers are encouraged to apply for funding to cover their travel costs. How to Participate:
Filmmakers and Musicians will be paired together through a live draw in WAMP’s Boardroom on August 4th at 5:30pm. If you cannot attend in person, a Zoom link will be available. A subsequent email will follow to introduce the teams, and share the music file.
Teams will have 48 hours starting at 6:00pm on August 4 to plan, film and complete a music video
Teams must upload and submit the completed videos here no later than 6:00pm on August 6. Please send to admin [@]wamp.ca with the subject line: TITLE_LASTNAME_48hr.

Note for Bands:
In the case that there is an odd number of musicians to filmmaker teams, bands that are not pulled in the draw will be refunded in full.
Note for Filmmakers:
If you require any equipment rental from WAMP, please send your request directly to equipment [@]wamp.ca. All rentals are subject to availability and regular pricing.

All filmmakers will receive a $250.00 licensing fee from Northwestel.
Property Rights:
The above prizes will be awarded to the filmmaking teams who worked on the music video. This includes the $250.00 licensing fee from NorthwesTel, and any other associated prize items.
WAMP will retain shared ownership over the final music videos with the musicians for five years to use for promotional and marketing purposes, both in person and online.
WAMP retains the right to post the video on social media and video streaming platforms like YouTube or Vimeo indefinitely, rights will be attributed to musicians and filmmakers.
Music that is registered with SoCAN is eligible to receive royalties. Please contact admin [@] wamp.ca for more information.
